I’m just overwhelmed with all the rad holiday crafts I’m finding online! Yesterday I tweeted about wanting to make this simple, but probably time-consuming, wreath. I think it’s an excellent way to use up extra paper scraps and wouldn’t necessarily have to be all one color scheme, but I think that’s the wily crafter in me. It might look *better* if the colors/patterns of paper followed some sort of color theme.
Now, after reading katie.cupcakes inspiring little crafty family blog I REALLY want to make this pom-pom wreath. I have a small stash of unused yarn and scraps (sold the rest of my huge stash in a yard sale earlier this year) that would be ideal for this. I’m going to mix up the colors like crazy!
It’s so homey and kitschy, which is how I’d describe our style. We try for mid-century mod but get lost in granny squares, embroidered townscapes and 70’s plastic owls along the way. Perhaps I was born in the wrong era? My Mom has always said so.
And how cute are these finger-knitted garlands?! Simple, cheap and something you can work on while sitting at home with the fam on a weeknight. I wanna dive right in… why oh why do I have to work for a living? I need to get home and start crafting!
Side note: since I’m a music nerd and music writer by hobby I can’t resist peppering my posts with what I’m currently listening to. This is the first of many music mentions! Currently: St. Vincent “Actor” // Flaming Lips “Embryonic” // Dirty Projectors “Bitte Orca”
